Our Educators

We have a small team here at Mungarra who work closely and cohesively with each other, all children and families. Each educator takes the time to get to know all children individually to build that strong educator: child relationship and bond. Our educators also take on specific roles within our early education and care community. These include:

1. Sustainability Officer:

our sustainability officer completes a bi monthly environmentally responsible checklist, to see where we are at with meeting our sustainability goals. We have a commitment to become a more sustainable centre. Our sustainability officer has also undertaken training to help support our service in reducing the use of single use plastics. Some of our sustainable goals that we have reached include: changing all chemicals over to earth friendly and organic chemicals, using recycled/biodegradable paper towels and cloths, implemented a successful composting system that the children are involved in, growing our own vegetables and herbs in our veggie pod, use our heating and air conditioning sporadically throughout the day for maximum efficiency whilst utilising our ventilation windows.

2. Inclusion Officer

our inclusion support officer works closely with the centre manager and our KU inclusion support officer to ensure that all children are engaged in the weekly program and are participating to their maximum potential. The inclusion support officer also ensures that aboriginal perspective is embedded into our weekly routine to ensure children are learning about our nation’s first people. They will reflect on our daily practices and educational program to review its inclusiveness in all aspects.

3. Munch and Move Officer

Our munch and move officer has undertaken training in the munch and move program and ensures that the outdoor environment is inclusive of physical activities, healthy eating is implemented and supported, and supporting healthy lifestyles for children while they are in our care. They will also be submitting feedback to our caterers about our menu, to influence any improvements, should they be required.

4. Staff Wellbeing Officer

Our staff wellbeing officer has undertaken training sessions with Be You. They will have further training on how to best support our educator’s mental and physical wellbeing. They will be responsible for planning team bonding events. They will organise staff birthdays and celebrations alongside our centre manager.
